i wouldn't worry about blue nile. when you go to the website's home page, at the bottom you can see they're members of Better Business Bureau, BizRate, Circle of Excellence, they use PayPal, and they trade on NASDAQ. i would have every confidence to shop there.

well since there will be NO gems it might be ok. But definetly make sure that you know what your ring sizes are and that you KEEP ALL of the paper woork. Plus be cautious that the ring sizes may vary. Also read the fine print and make sure you know about there return policy. ask people wo have used this site if everything came out alright.

When I was married, we ordered our rings online. We got them from an independent jeweler in New Zealand. They were exactly what we wanted and they came when they were scheduled to.
You should look to see what kind of satisfaction guarantee they offer, and make sure their site is secure when you make the purchase. If you use a credit card, your credit card company can help back you up if you experience any problems.

Both Jewelry stores and large internet stores like Blue Nile are rip offs in my humble opinion. I make jewelry (including wedding rings). I would buy (and have bought) directly from a jeweler near you. It is very important to try on your rings. You are going to wear them for the rest of your life! Would you buy a suit or a dress without trying it on, specially one that you would have to wear every day for the rest of your life??
If you are going to go for simple rings without diamonds, it is very easy to determine what they are worth. Just use the weight of the ring and look up todays gold or platinum price (whichever applies). Gold is running around $1000 per ounce. A 14K ring (=58% gold) that weighs 0.1 ounce is worth $58. Unless this is a one-of-a-kind piece there is not much extra cost to the jeweler and anything above $58 is profit.
If you need to find a jeweler near you try
etsy.com or a goldsmith/metalsmith society (they list many goldsmiths).
Good luck.

make sure theres a satisfaction guarantee with the rings you purchase.
also, make sure that you get signature request upon delivery- otherwise UPS/FedEx could accidentally bring the rings to the wrong address and leave them there. dont assume its signature required upon delivery- the boxes go by weight so they might not automatically make it a sig. req. delivery.
