Is It Wise To Sauter Your Wedding And Engagement Rings Together?
I was married last August and my wedding ring spins on my finger in the winter time when I’m cold. Both rings are the perfect size and cannot fall off, but the wedding ring does spin around when I’m using my hands for something. Anyhow, is it wise to get them sautered together so that the wedding ring cannot spin around? Is it expensive? Were you happy with yours being sautered?

Some places that were purchased from will do it for free.
My wife didn’t want to get her rings soldered just in case she just wanted to wear her wedding ring in chance of losing or getting the engagement ring lost/stolen. There are places she’s not comfortable to wear her engagement ring.
Mine are soldered because the wedding band curves to fit around a curve in my engagement ring. It was making me crazy because it wouldn’t stay where it belonged.
But I’ve also been told that it’s nice to have a single wedding band to wear when you’re someplace like a park without your husband around. A jeweler told me that ladies have had their engagement rings stolen at the park when they’re there to let their children play. So he always suggests that you only wear the diamond engagement ring when you’re with your husband.
I guess its whatever you feel comfortable with.
Hey there. I had mine sautered only because my rings were not a set. I purchased them seperately at different times. I am so happy with my rings now. My problem was that my engagement ring was twisting, but I don’t have any problem with that now.
If your rings were purchsed at the same time or from the same jeweler, I would take it in and ask about warranty information. If they were purchased from different jewelers, then the warranties may go inactive so be careful.
I had two little balls put inside my engagement ring. It prevents spinning. I have to have them because the middle section of my finger is a little bigger than the bottom of my finger and my ring was spinning way too much, but any smaller and I wouldn’t be able to easily get my ring off. The balls are usually used for ladies with arthritis, so the jeweler should know what they are.
The jewelery store did it for free as part of the sizing of my ring. My fiance paid extra for free sizing for life, so I am not sure what that would cost. My ring is platinum, so they added two small balls of platinum. They can do any size ball and if the round part bothers you it can be smoothed down.
Mine doesn’t spin because I got a low setting ring. Getting them soldered is a preference, if your wedding band does not have stones most people don’t if it has stones and isn’t channel set then your center stone can wear on the wedding ring. I would consider the thickness of each ring individually and together. It is not expensive
My engagement ring was a spinner…it faced my palm more often than it was how it was supposed to be.
I had my wedding ring soldered to my engagement ring. Problem solved!
OK, I also had my engagement ring downsized also, but I think most of the spinning problem was solved through the soldering.
I wouldn’t. I prefer to have the option to wear my wedding rings (I have 2 bands, one for each side of the engagement ring) separately or with the engagement ring. I like to leave my engagement ring in a safe on sime vacations, etc, but still want to have a wedding ring on.
It’s personal choice whether to get them soldered. I didn’t want to, because there are times I want to just wear my wedding band.
My sister did get it done – then ended up having to buy a separate plain wedding band for when she wanted to just wear one ring.
I think you probably need your wedding band sized smaller. Go see a jeweller.
That’s “solder” and it’s a preference. Mine were made to fit together, so could only spin as a pair. If the spinning annoys you, talk to a jeweler about the options.
go to a jeweler
they can also latch it together
