What Are Some Beautiful Wedding Songs Via Piano That I Can Walk Down To?
We have hired a pianist to play at our wedding this weekend and I hate the wedding march…ugh…so I would like to know some other options that are suitable to play as I walk down the aisle. Is Canon in D okay or too simple? I really don’t have any idea b/c EVERY song I listen to is accompanied by other instruments (mostly the violin). I also do not like any fairy tale songs or easy listening type songs but more traditional (just not the wedding march…ugh…). Thanks

Canon in D is really classic, but here are a few other suggestions (some are traditional vocals that sound great as instrumentals):
“Ave Maria”
“The Day” by Kenny G
“Kissing You” by Des’ree
“O Mio Babbino Caro”
“Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”
“Spring, First Movement”
“The Four Seasons (Autumn)”
“All I Ask of You” – Phantom of the Opera
“One Hand, One Heart” – West Side Story
“He Loves, She Loves” – Funny Face
“That’s All (I Can Only Give You Love…)”
“I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” – Elvis
“Unchained Melody”
“A Heart Full of Love” – Les Miserables
“La Fille Aux Cheveux De Lin”
“Come Away with Me” – Norah Jones
“If I Ain’t Got You” – Alicia Keys
“Come What May” – Moulin Rouge
Hope these help!
I think the traditional wedding song is beautiful after this song when everyone else is going down………I just wanted to give this suggestion to you…It would sound pretty when you go down too!!!!!!!
Here are the lyrics to Enya’s song Only time
Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time…
And who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time…
(chants)
Who can say why your heart sighs,
As your love flies?
Only time…
And who can say why your heart cries,
When your love dies?
Only time…
(chants)
Who can say when the roads meet,
That love might be,
In your heart.
And who can say when the day sleeps,
The moon still keeps on moving
If the night keeps all your heart?
Night keeps all your heart…
(extended chants)
Who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time…
And who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time…
Who knows?
Only time…
Who knows?
Only time…
Canon in D is a beautiful song to walk down the aisle to. I used that for my bridesmaids to walk down the aisle & then the painist played Trumphey Voluntary for me & dad to walk down the aisle to. Another good song to walk down the aisle to is Jesus, Joy Of Man’s Desiring by Bach & a good recessional song is Ode to Joy.
Congrats on your wedding and I hope this helps!!!
I plan to use the Cannon in D. It will sound good on the piano too. I plan to use a string quartet, but that’s just because I play violin, viola and cello and love the strings and the sound. I think it’d be beautiful to walk down to and something besides the wedding march. Blessings on your wedding!
Rock the Casbah is a favorite of mine. That should be good!!
My brother’s wife walked down the aisle to Ode to Joy and I thought it was really pretty. Congrats!
Its all about the Canon!
