For Wedding Rings I Am Considering A Gem W/diamonds Instead Of Traditional Diamonds. What Do You Think?

This will be my second marriage. My first marriage the ring was traditional 1 carat princess cut with 8 princess cuts on the side. Want something different for second time around. Everything I look at now is all the same, every store has the same thing just different prices, so I want to go with something unique, but still elegant for a ring. I am thinking of a light blue or sapphire with diamonds. My wedding are those colors. Let me know what you think.

I really think its up to you. There really isn’t a law that says that your wedding band needs to be all diamonds or all white diamonds or anything. My grandmother’s wedding ring is just a gold band with a single white diamond, whereas my aunt’s ring is a band that has two diamonds next to each other and then smaller diamonds around to form a figure 8 looking shape with the two larger diamonds inside them and then its set on a diagonal. Even though both of them had diamonds neither had to and my aunt actually looked at some yellow and pink stoned rings before settling on the setting she had the jewlwer come up with.
Since its your wedding ring you really are the only one that needs to choose what stones are in it or not and what setting it will have. Be unique or be traditional its completely your call…unless you have family pushing you in a certain direction lol. Other than that…you do what will make you happy.
And it would be beautiful to have the light blue sapphire with the diamonds in the setting you described, however, (and this is just me) those colors remind me of my graduation ring from high school. The school’s colors are navy blue and white and so our grad rings all had sappires cut in the rectangular kinda shape and then the school name and then diamonds ringing the school and then the crests down the sides. Those colors would just remind me of that lol but its completely up to you if you think you will love it. Don’t let my opinion stop you from choosing what will make you happy.

Do you mean a wedding ring or an engagement ring?
I have an aquamarine center stone with little diamonds on the side for my engagement ring. Here is a pic: http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLanding…
My fiance chose a regular engagement ring setting then had the jeweler find an aquamarine to put into the ring. It can be done and sometimes you can find nice gemstone rings right in the store that will work for the ring you want.

That can be totally beautiful – like nova’s ring, it’s just lovely.
Just make sure you choose a setting that you can match/fit a wedding band with.

that’s fine, you can have whatever kind of ring you want. pick your favorite gemstone or your birthstone or your spouse’s and go with that.
