For A Woman, What Is The Difference In Style Between An Engagement Ring And A Wedding Ring?
I heard that the wedding ring should just be a simple ‘band’, but can it have a small diamond in it ?
And, can a couple just skip the whole engagement ring step ?

The engagement ring has a rock on it. The wedding band and a simple band but it can be covered with diamonds.
No you can’t skip a step because when you propose you need a ring (the engagement ring) and then when you have planned the wedding and you’re getting married you can’t exactly ask her to give you the ring back so that you can give it to her again…so you need an other ring. Most women wear both rings on the same finger after the wedding, others wear just the wedding ring. Either way it is not a waste!

Yes of course a couple can skip the whole engagement ring step, it is simply a recognized tradition that men propose with a ring for the intended bride. A wedding band can have small diamonds in it, and more and more are varying from the traditional “simple” look. There are also wedding band and engagement ring sets, so that the band and the ring fit together perfectly as a pair.
Yes – they can both have diamonds on them. http://www.elsarings.com//category/Weddi…
There are a lot of sets like these that you buy together that are made to match. They usually fit better together than buying a wedding band and the engagement ring separately.
The engagement ring is for proposing. I know some people don’t get the actual wedding band – they just use the engagement ring to symbolize their committment. If it’s a single “band” then use it for proposing and also for the ceremony.
I had my engagement ring for a year which was platinum with a center diamond. The engagement ring is normally the flashy one. We traded it in for a matching engagement ring & wedding band set just before we got married. My band does have diamonds in it but not like my engagement ring. I’ll find a pic. Here you go, mine kinda looks like this but of course there’s a large diamond in the center of that setting.http://www.jewelryexchange.com/productde…
the engagment ring is for when you propose to your girlfriend usually they are simple but beautiful nothing exstravagant though maybe a smalll diamond (you cant really skip this how else would you propose)
and then for the wedding rings that you exchange at the ceremony they should be mroe extravagant and beautiful than the engagment ring.
Wow!! There’s two types of rings…
What a waste of money.
I just thought that when one proposes then that’s the ring kept for life and that some people at the day of the wedding they wear a simple band in front of the diamond one.
yeah couples can skip the engagement ring step.
You don’t have to get her an engagement ring. Especially if she rather use that money towards something else.
Get whatever type of ring you want! Don’t worry about what is most popular or traditional. You are the one that will have to wear it.
I have known people to skip the engagement ring part. And a wedding band can have stones in it.
I actually have an aquamarine eternity band which has stones all the way around.
Plenty of brides wear a simple band with a diamond in the middle. Its up to the couple if they dont want to buy an engagement ring.
