Its your wedding so what ever you like is what I would go with if I were you.
That being said, take into consideration not only the formality and style of your wedding, but the formality and style of the invitations you plan on using. A very elegant wedding and invite would not look appropriate with Comic Sans lettering, however the Engravers or Invitation font would, (not sure if your program would have either).
However if you were having a relaxed informal wedding the Comic sans would be appropriate.
Something else to consider is readability of the font, size of the font and how much room you have on your invite. You can set up the invite and print it in several fonts on plain paper and lay them over your invite to get the spacing and idea of what you like, without sacrificing invites and the expense that goes with them.
Whatever font you use, make sure it’s easy to read. A lot of those fancy fonts with the curlicues on them are not very reader-friendly. I haven’t had Word ‘03 for a really long time, but there was this one font on there I used to use all the time, that was elegant looking but still was easy to read- I think it was some girl’s name, but it wasn’t “Ashley” because that’s a horrible font.
Another tip I can give you- since the fonts on Word ‘03 are rather limited, you should Google “downloadable Word 2003 fonts” and see if there are any fonts you can download for free which are compatible with your software. Just watch out for computer viruses, but if you have a good firewall, you’ll be fine.
Most people use a Script style font on their invitations, I’m sure at least one script style font comes standard on MS 2003.
I oredered my font because I wanted a particular style and wanted to be a bit different.
One trick: You can type your invitation on a more upgraded sioftware on someone else’s computer and then save it on a CD, or attachment or thumdrive and take it to yours to print. You cannot make any changes to it though, but it will be able to print it.

I’m not sure if MS Word 2003 has Monotype Corsiva or Papyrus for fonts, but if they do those are good ones!
I’m using Papyrus myself for my invites but have used Monotype Corsiva when I printed up invites for a friend’s annversary party. Both are fairly easy to read, so keep that in mind if you are printing up your envelopes as well.
And I agree with the answerer who said go to http://www.dafont.com/ and download some fonts if you can’t find one on MS Word 2003 to your liking. OR check out http://www.fontfreak.com/ I got a TON of fonts off of that site myself!

A wide, wide variety of fonts are being used on wedding invitations these days. You should consider the formality of your event, and the vibe you want to give off. The invitation is the first hint to your guests, of what the wedding will be like. Is it formal? Casual? Relaxed? Fun and wild? Whats your vibe?

To be honest MS word 2003 doesn’t have really nice fonts:( I recommend you to try 2007. It has a lot of nice and really elegant fonts that would suit a wedding invitation.
Do one that describes you,and there are alot of nice wording styles,dont listen to other people that say other wise about the MS Word 2003.Good luck.
