Does Anyone Actually Like Cd Wedding Favors?

We are planning on having an extensive desert/candy table already, I dont want to give more sweets as favors. We were considering doing the empty bag at the candy bar thing as favors but we’re both music lovers so I thought a music cd as a favor of all the songs we love or wanted to include in the day but couldnt because there were too many? But does anyone actually enjoy wedding cd favors? I’ve heard that most people dont like them?

If they are great soneg then its a good idea. but most everyone likes the same music. For some people it will be just another CD on the shelf.
You could make some CDs and let people take them if they’d like. You could do a more widly enjoyed gift like a small bottle of wine, wine topper to match your theme, or candle holder.
Last idea, donate the favor money to a charity. If you have something you feel strongly about then do that. If its music give it to a music school to help the tuition of a less fortunate student. Its better then giving gifts people dont care much for!

I’m one of the people who don’t like CD wedding favors. I have received several that I’ve never listened to. Here’s why: For me it’s not about music taste, it’s about convenience. Like many other people I know, I don’t even have a CD player anymore. Everything’s MP3 for my ipod. Yes, I could play the CD on my computer, but I don’t. So for me, the CDs just aren’t practical. A better way to incorporate the songs you love is to just play them at the reception. If they have particular meaning, you could have the DJ introduce the songs by saying something like “In an ideal world, this song would have been playing when the bride and groom met” or “the bride and groom picked this song to honor their parents. If you’re a parent yourself, please join us on the dance floor” etc.

If I were a close friend of yours and I knew you liked music and it was meaningful to your fiance and yourself, I would probably like it.
    But everyone is different.
I am having the same issue with my favors. When you try to find something more personal and meaningful, it’s almost like more people are less likely to enjoy it because it’s not generic.
If it’s in your budget, and it’s meaningful to you and your fiance and everyone knows you love music, I’d say go for it.
If it’s too much, the candy bar is still awesome! I think that’s favor enough, too.
    Best of luck to you!

I would consider the age spread of your guests because it’s unlikely that the youngest folks will like what the oldest do and vice versa.
For me personally, music is pretty individual. I don’t even share the same tastes in music with my friends or husband, and those are people who are mostly my age.
I think the candy favor table is plenty – why do you need to do more than one favor?

no i don’t – sorry – i hate to see someone work so hard to put together a c.d. that i am going to either throw out or throw in the junk drawer. but then i don’t like favors at all, i don’t need a thank you gift for attending your wedding. i would much rather you take the money you would have spent on favors and buy something for your new home! and pretty much everyone i know feels the same way! maybe its our age group – over 40!
    good luck and happy wedding!

I had the same issue. We are kind of of the wall to begin with and I didnt want something that everyone would throw in the trash when they got home. We had customized shot glasses made. They were realy cute and I even had people call and ask if I had any extras so they could have a set.

My cousin gave CD favors. I really liked it. It’s been 3 years and I still have the CD and enjoy listen to it.

if you have the money…you might put the music on a thumb drive instead of cd, it’ll be reusable if they dont like the music.
